SCALE THE SUMMIT's "The Collective" To Receive Limited Vinyl Release

By popular demand, Prosthetic Records will soon release "The Collective," the critically acclaimed 2011 album by Houston progressive instrumentalists SCALE THE SUMMIT, on vinyl. The LP -- limited to 500 copies on high-quality 180-gram wax, and available now for pre-order at the Prosthetic Store -- will feature enhanced cover art, pictured above. Additionally, it will contain the bonus track "Redwoods," a song recorded during "The Collective" sessions that to date has only been available on the Japanese version of the album.

"The Collective," called "terrifyingly good" and "essential prog" by Guitar World, was recorded in late 2010 at Paint It Black Studios in Orlando, Florida with producer Mark Lewis (Devildriver, All That Remains, The Black Dahlia Murder). It was supported by five North American tours in 2011 alongside the likes of Periphery, Protest The Hero, The Human Abstract, Fair To Midland, Cynic and 3.

SCALE THE SUMMIT will embark on its first-ever headlining tour this week. The Their Strings Are Voices tour kicks off in the band's hometown of Houston on Friday, and will wrap its way through the U.S. before concluding on February 19 in Pensacola, Fla. Support will be provided by Elitist at most shows.

MyChildren MyBride move up the release date for their upcoming self-titled album to March 13th.

Solid State Records is pleased to announce the release of Mychildren Mybride's third full-length album, a self-titled effort available online and in stores everywhere March 13.

The eagerly awaited album is the band's third release in six years, and the first since 2010's lauded Lost Boy, which debuted at #183 on the Billboard Top 200.

For Mychildren Mybride, the self-titled album represents a new chapter for the band, and stamps the advent of a refined sound the members have been chasing since MCMB's inception.

"That's exactly what this album is, a new beginning," says guitarist Robert Bloomfield. "I really do feel we found our sound. It's definitely MCMB still, but with this new flare that we've all loved and understood but never figured out a way to translate it to our music."

Recorded with esteemed producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall), Mychildren Mybride finds the band reaching deep mentally and emotionally for what is without a doubt their crowning achievement thus far, a hard-hitting, experimental, cinematic opus that will set a fire in the hearts of old and new fans alike. With a no-holds-barred approach to programming and effects, and good, old-fashioned brutal riffage - not to mention a new level of dynamics from frontman Matthew Hasting - Mychildren Mybride have boldly redefined themselves for this new chapter of their career.

"I feel like everything we've done as a band all comes together in this one record," Bloomfield says. "Everything we've learned along the way. We put all our love and hate into it. It's the best album in our career so far."

Deathwish Inc. signs Pittsburgh's CODE ORANGE KIDS

Fresh out of high school and with an average age of 18 years old, Pennsylvania's Code Orange Kids remind us off our own embryonic days in the aggressive music scene. They do things their way, creatively cutting their own path through it all. Unconcerned with the direction of other artists, their brand of gritty hardcore/punk is simply refreshing to hear. Merging cryptic melody, dirty hardcore power, and intense dirges into their own uniquely inspired sound.

Code Orange Kids recently released their fantastic "Cycles" 7"EP on the Mayfly label. Check out "Cycles" from the 7"EP at the link above. They also have a split 7"EP with Full Of Hell surfacing soon on Top Shelf label. You can find all available Code Orange Kids releases and new apparel in the Deathwish Estore now.

No Sleep Records signs Albany, New York's DRUG CHURCH

We are stoked to welcome Drug Church to the family!

DC features End of a Year (Deathwish Inc) frontman, Patrick Kindlon as well as Cory Galusha, Chris Villenueve and Nick Cogan. Expect their debut “Self-Titled” 7” mid 2012.

Drug Church is the sound of “some college” and a delivery job. It’s what happens when you strip any pretense from music and are left with a room full of dudes with weird bodies and tenuous futures.

Pulling liberally from Seaweed, Quicksand, and Kerosene 454, the band fully embraces its hardcore-dudes-trying-to-play-alt-rock influences.

No heavy trips about how you should live. No white-guy slam poetry about love. Just music you can pushpit and stagedive to so you can forget for a moment that you have eczema and work at Pizza Hut. ACTUAL punk music for ACTUAL disaffected weirdos.

Animal Style Records signs Massachusetts' THE FAKE BOYS.

Animal Style Records is excited to welcome The Fake Boys (Lowell, MA) to its ever-growing family. On March 27th, 2012, the label will issue the outfit's newest full-length, Pig Factory, digitally and on 12" vinyl, with the latter being limited to 500 copies on black (100) and translucent pink (400) colorways.

Pig Factory was recorded and produced by Jay Maas (Have Heart, Title Fight, Transit, Polar Bear Club) at Getaway Recording in Wakefield, MA. The album is the trio's second long-player and the follow-up to This Is Where Our Songs Live, as well as several EPs and split releases. You can check out The Fake Boys' back catalog on Bandcamp.

To celebrate today's announcement, Animal Style and The Fake Boys have teamed up with Alternative Press for an exclusive stream of the song "This Is Our Sound." To listen, go here.

Caught somewhere between the warm, fuzzy hooks of The Smoking Popes, The Descendent's urgency and aggression, Chavez's skewed dynamics and the unique melodicism of Jawbreaker, Pig Factory is an undeniably fun, unexpected ride that's teeming with buzz-saw guitars and a seemingly never-ending supply of sing-along moments. The Fake Boys understand how to evoke the nostalgia of 90's power-pop and indie rock while diving into modern punk's pool of tension and ferocity.

Stay tuned for pre-order information in early March, as well as news of a full U.S. Tour in April and Europe later this summer.

The 1st Pure Noise Records Tour featuring The Story So Far, Handguns, I Call Fives.

Rising Bay Area punk/indie label Pure Noise Records is coming off its biggest year yet, so to satisfy fan demand and keep the momentum going, the label has announced plans for its first-ever Pure Noise Records Tour, featuring several of the bands that have helped the label make its mark on the scene.

Headlining the first two weeks of the tour (2/24-3/8) is critically acclaimed Bay Area punk outfit, The Story So Far who are on track to becoming a key force in the pop punk scene. Harrisburg, PA’s Handguns will then headline one week (3/13-3/18), after which NJ’s I Call Fives will take over the headline slot for the remaining dates (3/20-3/24.)

Rounding out the bill on all dates are Berkeley, CA’s The American Scene and Southern California’s Forever Came Calling. Boston, MA’s Daybreaker will jump on the tour from 3/9-3/18.

Pure Noise Records was started in 2009 out of Berkeley, CA by founder Jake Round. The label’s roster also includes such acts as Troubled Coast and Create Avoid. As Round explains in the latest issue of the UK magazine Rock Sound, “Pure Noise is a small, hardworking company that seeks to release music for artists that we truly believe in.”
